ADGroups
This is the first tool in Javelina’s ADToolkit product suite that I tested out. I received an email
with a link to download ADGroups shortly after filling in contact data on the product’s web page. There was an error during installation stating: “WiseScript COM Registration Tool has stopped working”, but I was able to continue with the installation. Upon startup I was prompted to setup email, and I skipped over this step, too. The product lets administrators add, modify, and delete group attributes and members using a basic graphical user interface.
To create a group you enter group information in the “New Groups” tab, then you must choose the location in AD to create the group in the “Account” tab, and similarly add members to the group in the “Members” tab. Other tabs include “Member Of” for adding the new group to one or more existing groups, “Managed By” to assign a group manager, an “Attributes” to set attribute values for the group, and an “Output” tab to setup of a log file of the group creation process. After setting up the new group information you have the option of scheduling the group to be added at a later time, creating the group immediately, or running it in “simulation mode”. Simulation mode creates a log file with the group’s information for review.
Price: $395 per administrator.
